Takdah is perfect for the kind of people who want to spend some peaceful moments in the lap of nature. The beautiful hill station is situated at an altitude of around 5000 feet. Blooming orchids, a tea garden, an enchanting mountain view, rustic hilly trails, and deep pine forests made the scenery of this beautiful mountain hamlet. Despite being situated lower than Darjeeling, the place is cooler compared to the surroundings. The mountain hamlet is strategically located at a distance of 31 km from Darjeeling town and 22 km from Teesta Bazar. It will take a road to the left of Teesta Bazar that will lead to places like Bara Mangwa, and Chhota Mangwa before reaching your destination, Takdah. Though the place is almost covered with a misty layer all through the year, the weather remains pleasant between October to March. The sky seems also clear this time and you can enjoy the scenic mountain view and emerald green tea gardens. Runge Rungliot tea garden is one of the most famous tea gardens out there. The 100-year-old hanging bridge just below the Pubang Tea garden is another popular spot here.
